We at Montys have great pleasure in presenting our new wine list. As with our previous list, our focus has been choice and value for you, the customer. In this list, we have taken a different approach presentationally: we now categorise by regionality rather than by price. This list is by far our most comprehensive to date. We want to offer wines that suit our cuisine. But we are also keen to present wines that would be new (or at least less familiar) to many people, such as Grüner Veltliner from Austria, Carménère from Chile, the Douro wines of Portugal, and some interesting wines from our nearest neighbours in England, to name but a few. We now offer a large selection of wines by the glass, with a choice of 175ml, 250ml or 500ml measures, using the ‘Le Verre de Vin’ wine preservation system and a smaller selection of premium wines using the Coravin system, which we will change on a monthly basis. We have also selected some serious big hitters, just in case you want to celebrate a lotto win! We have not forgotten the driver in your party – for the first time, we have included some de–‐alcoholised wines. These are good for your waist–‐line too, with 50% fewer calories than the average wine. Glassware can have an effect on your appreciation of a wine. With this in mind, some wines ill be served in glassware tailored to the varietal or region. In compiling this wine list, we have been fortunate to have tasted most of the wines, and can happily recommend them to you. We hope you enjoy sampling what we have put together for you!
